MEET THE TEAM

Keith Hudson
Senior Pastor

My wife, JoAnn and I are best friends and we met when we were both students at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.; it was called Liberty Baptist College or LBC at that time. We attended a Spring Banquet, (Liberty didn’t allow dances back then) and we were seated at the same table, I was with my date and she was with hers, and all I could think was, “man I wish I could trade places with that guy.” A few months later, we both landed spots on one of the LBC traveling teams, she was a singer and I was one of the tech guys. Over that year of travel, we got to know one another and eventually started dating. After college, we were married, and we now have four adult children and seven grandchildren. You should come and hear the noise in our house on Friday nights when we all get together. Personally, I enjoy hiking, backpacking, camping and travel (when I can do it) but mostly hanging out with my grandkids, dancing and singing (we allow dancing in my house) and generally being a big kid with a bunch of little kids keeps me young at heart. As a pastor, drilling deeply into the Word of God and then sharing the nuggets of golden truth that I find there with those hungry for the Bread of Life is an honor and a passion that burns deep inside. Jesus is the best thing that has ever happened to me and He commands my heart from first to last. He gave me my family and the church I pastor, and I could not be more grateful.

My late husband, Dale, and I married in 1975 and we had 46 years together. We have two children and four grandchildren. I grew up in Gardendale, AL, and our family moved to Hayden in 1991.  I joined our staff in April 2005 as the full-time Church/Financial Secretary.  In January 2023, I decided to go part-time with church finance duties only. I love to travel and spend time with family and friends!  Outside of my duties, I'm involved in our WMU Ministry/ Women’s Ministry, Missions, and a strong, ladies small group.

Administrative Secretary

My husband and I moved to Hayden back in 2020 along with our two kids. We first visited FBC Hayden that November and immediately felt the warmth and feeling of home, but didn't start attending regularly until January 2021. I had spent almost 16 years working for a financial institution prior to accepting the Administrative Secretary position here at the church in January 2023. I love music and serve in our Praise Band. I also love to paint, write, and to travel, camp and hike. I am super excited to be a part of the ministry here and look forward to whatever God has in store for us next!

Paul and I married in 1977.  I grew up in Gardendale, AL.  We moved to Hayden in 1984.  Now we have two grown children and two grandchildren.  We joined FBC Hayden in 1985 and I joined the staff in October of 2000.  I love to camp and spend time with family and friends.

Pic & Bio coming soon!

Family & Student Pastor

My wife, Michelle and I have been married for 22 years, and we have two sons, Eli and Zach. One attends High School and one Elementary School. We live in Morris, AL and enjoy time together, often found playing football in the front yard or basketball in the driveway!

I asked Jesus into my heart at 14 years old and gave into the call to preach at 18 and have never looked back.

I’ve been a Student Pastor, Children’s Pastor, and was a Senior Pastor at another Southern Baptist Church in Fultondale, AL for 23 years.

My Degree is in Bible from Liberty University, and I have an incredible heart for Students with an understanding that you cannot separate the ministries between parents and their children.

So we are incredibly excited about an opportunity to minister to the Students and Families of Hayden, AL.

Jared King
Student Ministry Coordinator

My wife, Jennifer and I are high school sweethearts and first met 1998. We have been married since 2006 and have lived in the Hayden community since 2007. We are blessed to be the parents of three children, Levi, Ethan, and Robbin. Together Jennifer and I served in my home church at Center Point Freewill Baptist but felt led to join FBC Hayden in 2010. Soon after joining we found the importance of our children attending and serving in the church of the community where they attend school. Over the years we have met and served with lifelong friends and built relationships within our church community that is undeniably a gift from God. I work in the railroad industry as a Safety Development Manager and Jennifer has worked in the Hayden Primary School since 2016. Even though our schedules are busy we have always tried to lead by example serving in our church. I accepted the call to join the staff in 2024 as Student Ministries Coordinator. Our family is excited to serve the students of Hayden and the surrounding communities.

I grew up in Blount County where I began singing at the age of seven with my dad and sister. In 1992, right out of high school, my buddies and I formed a quartet called "The Brethren." I sang with them until 1998, then began singing with N'Harmony, a quartet out of Nashville. We traveled all over the US, Canada, Ireland, and the Bahamas. After leaving N'Harmony, I spent two years singing with Todd Nelon, the son of Rex Nelon. Then the Lord led me to join Crossway, a Christian trio. We toured all over the US and Canada. I retired from singing professionally in 2008. The Lord has opened and closed quite a few doors in my life. He currently has blessed me with my own lawn care business. I have been married to Leigha Longshore Rogers since 1997. We have two adult daughters, Bailee and Emilee, and a goldendoodle named Riggs. I enjoy hunting, fishing and spending time at the beach with my family. My wife and I are excited to see what God has in store for us here at Hayden First Baptist Church. He is worthy of our praise!

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • On a Gaither Video "Good News"

  • Nominated for Tenor of the Year

  • Recorded "Long Arm of Love" with the Oak Ridge Boys

  • Perfored at a BMI Luncheon with Steven Curtis Chapman

  • Sang, "Took It All Away," a song that landed on the Christian Top 20 Chart

  • Opened for Little Big Town and Taylor Swift at the Grand Ole Opry
