Our Mission:

First Baptist Church is located in the small town of Hayden, about 30 miles north of Birmingham, Alabama.  Hayden has traditionally been a rural farming area, but as Birmingham began to expand, new subdivisions were developed in our area.  We have people in our community who still farm or work in local businesses, but we also have many who travel into Birmingham for work each day.  You will find this unique blend present in our church family.  First Baptist Church Hayden is truly a cross generational, and cross cultural church.  All age groups are well represented in our church family.  If you visit us on a Sunday morning you may sit next to someone in a coat and tie, or you may find yourself next to someone in jeans and a t-shirt, and all are welcome.   Our worship music is also diverse, utilizing great hymns of the faith, as well as new songs, all set in a culturally relevant style led by our Praise Band and Praise Team.  First Baptist Church belongs to the Southern Baptist Convention, and as such we are a part of sending and supporting missionaries all over the world!  As a part of the SBC our church doctrine is reflected in “The Baptist Faith and Message.”  If you would like to know more about that you can read it here.
